Hello all-
I'm in quite a predicament, and I would be eternally grateful if someone could help me.
3 weeks ago, I owned a Nintendo 3DS XL- a happy owner, my favorite game was Pokemon: Alpha Sapphire, which I had downloaded the day it was released and had logged over 200 hours playing it. My collection of Pokemon, both competitive and collected, rivaled any of anyone I had met so far.
Then, I saw a deal for $100 ioff a pre-order of the New Nintendo 3DS XL if I turned in my current DS a week before the New was to be released.
At first, I had a question- How will I get my system transferred if I have to turn it in early?
But I answered myself with a laugh- If GameStop is one of the only ways to get the system in the U.S, and this was a deal, then there has to be a way to do it with my SD card. Nintendo isn't that stupid, right?
So I copied my game data to a Micro SDHC card.
When I recieved my New Nintendo 3DS XL later that week, to my dismay, when I plugged in the Micro SD card, nothing came up. Alpha Sapphire was gone.
That week, I made over 20 calls to Nintendo Customer Service. Each call, I gained somewhat more ground in getting my saves back.
First, they remotely transferred my NNID to my new 3DS. I redownloaded the game, but the save data was still gone.
Now, I've tried about 50 times, doing everything I've been told in the transfer process. I've tried many Micro SD cards, and nothing has worked.
Today, I called again, and the new representative whispered to me at the end that while it isn't reccomended, it's possible to move the specific game files from my SD card and replace them with the new save data files on my Micro SD card. But Nintendo's file system is a cryptic maze of numbered folders. I know where the game itself is (I mean, it's 1.74 gb) but I have no idea how to move its Save files to my new one.
I need help. My DS is my life, and I just can't imagine having to play the game again.
Any suggestions? Is there anyone who would walk me through this?
Sincerely,
An Angry and Sad Pokemon Trainer
