sorry if this has been asked, i looked for 2 days now and havent found much solid info.

since nintendo is putting retail 3ds games on the e shop i decided it is time to upgrade my card from the 2 gig to a 32 or 64gb

question i have

1.will a 64gb sdhc or sdxc work in the 3ds

2. anyone know what write/read speed it should have, someone said that read speed is more important than writing speed for 3ds so is a 20mb/s read speed and 15mb/s write speed good

3. anyone have suggestions on cards i should get, i want it to be a 64gb and under 60 bucks, i found one for 50 thats a komputerbay 64gb class 10 sdxc card if anyone knows of a better card or how good this one is it would be really helpful.

New Nintendo 3DS SD Cards?

Okay. This isn't really as much of a tech question as it is a question about future Nintendo products, so if this is against the rules, I am sorry.

Anyway, I have a question about the New Nintendo 3DS. Y'know, the one with the Xenoblade Chronicles port. I heard that it will only support micro SD cards. Is this true? Also, if it does, can I use any brand of micro SD cards? Also, do micro SD cards hold the same amount of memory as a regular sized SD card? For example, if I buy a 32GB micro SD card and a 32GB regular sized SD card, will the only difference be the size, and they hold the same amount of memory?

Thanks in advance.

Pre-Installed Software & Software Transfer Question

I was thinking of picking up one of the new Blue 3DSXLs with Mario Kart 7 pre-installed. When I transfer my data from my existing 3DS to the new system will Mario Kart 7 be merged into my eShop account or will it be overwritten? (Which would stink.)

Nintendo 3DS to 3DS XL Transfer Questions

$

Hello. I have a Nintendo 3DS, the original one that first came out back in 2011.  Inside it has an 8GB SD card where all my data is currently saved (the 8GB SD card is one I bought from a store for larger capacity and is not one that originally came with the 3DS itself).  Recently my dad purchased a brand new Nintendo 3DS XL for me for my birthday, and I think he also purchased a warranty on it but as of this posting I'm not entirely sure.  I've always thought the 3DS XL looked cool but was always hesitant on buying one out of fear of losing any games or saved data in the process of transferring from my current 3DS to a new 3DS XL.  However, now that I actually have one, I'm probably going to have to do it anyway.  So I have some questions.

First off, I just took my 8GB SD card from my original 3DS and inserted it into my computer, so all the current data on it could be backed up in its entirety.  The backup process was successful and all the data from my SD card is now copied onto my computer.

Now, I have a few questions.  If I go to transfer from my Nintendo 3DS to my new 3DS XL, will all of my data be successfully transferred?  That includes downloaded games from the eShop, rare games such as TLoZ: Four Swords and the original arcade version of Donkey Kong, Virtual Console games, saved game data on all those games (including Restore Points) as well as saved game data on hard copy games, and such?  Does it include all of my saved Miis? What about free and purchased DLC for games (such as Coin Rush packs for NSMB2 or puzzles for Pushmo/Crashmo)? What about Swapnote? I have tons of notes from friends that I'm hoping will transfer over to my 3DS XL as well as limited-edition promotional stationery I received from different sources.  Would it be best to add myself as a "friend" on both 3DS systems and download Swapnote on my 3DS XL, and then send myself notes on Swapnote with all the different stationery from my original 3DS so the new system gets it?  I'm not even sure if that's feasible since I'd think that once you transfer over your old system's data to a new one that the data that was on the new one would be overwritten.  Would all of my pictures and videos and sound recordings from my original 3DS also be saved and be transferred over to my new 3DS XL?  And once the system transfer is complete, I would just take the SD Card out from the original 3DS and put it into the new 3DS XL and it would actually be usable?  Or if not, would I have to copy all the backed up data from my SD card that's sitting on my computer right now onto a fresh SD card? And what should I do with my old 3DS, once that's all said and done?

Since I've been playing Animal Crossing: New Leaf for the past few months (the physical copy, not a downloaded copy), I've been making tremendous progress in my town so as you can see...I don't want to lose my data (or any data at all for that matter) in the process of transferring.

One last question.  Whenever our home phone rings, for some reason the internet on any mobile device gets disconnected but then comes back up after a few seconds.  Would it be best to perform this kind of transfer, if I'm even going to do it at all, late at night when there's hardly a chance at all the phone will ring as to not disrupt the system transfer process? I've heard that if the process is somehow disrupted due to a bad connection while in the middle of it that you could potentially lose data if that happens.

If anyone could please answer my questions and ease my concerns in the process, that'd be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.

Transferring account to new system w/ preinstalled game

I currently have a 3DS XL with several games that I've purchased through the e-shop.

I'm considering buying the collectors edition New 3DS that has Monster Hunter 4U preinstalled on the system and giving my old system to my brother.

I know that it is possible to transfer account information including games between two systems hooked up to the same network. My concern is with the new system having the game preinstalled, when I transfer my account and games from the old system, will it delete the preinstalled game on the new system?  I saw the instructions tell you not to enter account information on the new system as it will be deleted during transfer, but didn't see anything either way regarding preinstalled games.

Have any of you transfered your account to a system with a preinstalled game?  Any advice you can offer would be appreciated.

SD Card not detected

This just started happening when I updated my 3DS. Every time I try to access the eShop, or even the Home menu, I get an error message saying that the system "Could not detect an SD card" and "The software on the SD card could not be displayed". Also, it tells me the portion of my SD card that stores software data is corrupted when I access the eShop and redirects me to data management. I have formatted everything and I still get this error. Please help!

The new updated killed my nintendo zone.

The new update killed my ability to use the nintendo zone. I have 2 3ds xl. One updated last night. I went to a McDonalds and the non updated one streetpassed and the nintendo zone icon said I was in the zone. The update one said I was and when I had it search it said "Nope no nintendo zone here" even though my other one and my daughters ds both said yes the is a zone here. So I updated my other 3ds xl and as soon as it restarted it could not log into the zone and said there wasn't on available, but my daughters 3ds, which has not updated, said the zone was still there and she could log in.

So how do I fix this and is there anyway to get rid of the update? We live in a very small town and the McDonalds is one of the few places we can streetpass.

HELP!

Thanks

Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate New 3DS Xl won't restock

Okay, I am very confused at this point. I have read multiple articles online saying that they're sold out and hopefully you could get a normal New 3DS XL. Does this mean that the Monster Hunter New 3DS XL's will never be sold again? Please tell me what you guys know, if this is correct than I'm pretty upset. I was planning on preordering the day it got sold out. I thought maybe I could get it in the future, and not for crazy high prices on eBay or Amazon. Anyways please tell me what you guys think.

Is the Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate Digital Copy that comes with the New 3DS bundle transferable?

$

Dear Nintendo,

I have recently purchased the Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate + New Nintendo 3DS Bundle that was availible through Gamestop and have found myself in quite the predicament:

Seeing as the Monster Hunter game itself is PRELOADED onto the microSD card that comes with my New Nintendo 3DS, How can I go about transfering the games and saves from my old 3DS to the New 3DS without losing the Monster Hunter game in the process? All the system transfer tutorials that I have seen only account for an empty microSD card and not the digital game/s that are bundled with the console in these packages.

If it helps, I will also be moving all the contents of both consoles over to a 32gb SanDisk microSD because the 4gb it comes with doesn't have the space I require for my games and my future digital content purchases.

Thank you for your time,

Error Code: 009-4072 "The SD Card may not be inserted or was inserted during use of the system..."

>>>>EDIT: Dec 23, 2014 TL;DR: I got this error message after upgrading to a new SD Card. Nintendo said it can be done by dragging the data to a computer, then to the new SD card. After doing that, this error message appeared for Streetpass Mii Plaza. Nintendo doesn't know what this code means. (ikr?) In the end, I ended up having to delete all the data on the SD Card, losing my progress on the Streetpass games, as well as the save data for my digital version of Animal Crossing. Abandon all hope, ye who enter here.<<<<

I have a 3DS XL and recently upgraded to a 32GB SD Card. I transferred all the data from my previous (4GB) SD card by dropping it onto my computer, then moving it from my computer to the new (32GB) SD card. At first, everything looked fine; my digital download of "Animal Crossing: New Leaf" was still there and looking fine, all the icons on the home screen were accounted for, the background was blue the way I like it, etc. The problem started, however, when I started up "Streetpass Mii Plaza." There was a loading screen, then I get the following error message:

"Error Code: 009-4072

An error has occured.

-The SD Card may not be inserted or was inserted during use of the system. Please turn off the power, and then insert the SD Card and try again.

-Please check that the SD Card is not write-protected."

WP_20141207_006.jpg

I tapped "OK" and it continued on to the Mii Plaza. Everything looked normal, but I was missing the streetpass games I purchased, and only had the two that came with the 3DS: "Puzzle Swap" and "Find Mii I & II." "Mii Force," "Flower Town," "Warrior's Way," and "Monster Manor" are all missing, yet in the Mii Plaza Settings menu, I have the option of clearing data from those games.

The Nintendo support error code look-up interprets 009-4072 as a problem connecting to the internet. I submitted a ticket online to Nintendo Support...

...but havn't gotten a reponse yet. I called customer support, and they weren't able to find the error code or help me fix the problem.

Unfortunately, I didnt back up my data after the first transfer, but I've backed it up on my computer since. What I've found is that an empty SD card (the 4GB or the 32GB; doesn't matter) doesn't encounter the error, but EITHER SD card with the data on it encounters the error. Nothing else seems to be affected other than "Streetpass Mii Plaza." I'm starting to think I'm just going to have to wipe everythign and start from scratch, but I've been playing a lot of "Animal Crossing: New Leaf" and that would just be a major bummer.

Transferring pre installed games between consoles

$

I have ordered both the Monster Hunter 4 edition of the ''new'' 3DS XL aswell as the standard edition ''new'' 3DS . I plan on keeping the XL at home and using the standard sized new 3DS on the go and at work. I have a few questions regarding pre installed games and systems transfers.

I was wondering if it was at all possible to have the pre installed monster hunter 4 game on both systems? If I was to system transfer my data from the monster hunter edition to the standard edition, would I be able to have the game on both consoles? And if so, is the saved data for the game saved on the system itself or the SD Card?

I was also wanting to transfer my data from my current 2DS over to the new systems. Would this delete the pre installed monster hunter game?

So basically, I am wanting to transfer the pre installed game from my monster hunter console to my standard new 3ds and then transfer my data from my 2DS to the standard sized console. Would it be possible to do this and have the monster hunter game and my 2ds data on both the new consoles.

Im sorry if this is confusing (im kinda confusing myself) but any information would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Issues with 3DS system transfer to 3DS XL

$

I'm having a rather annoying issue with transferring all my data from my old 3DS to my new 3DS XL.

Basically, I went to Best Buy, bought the XL over there, and traded in my old 3DS to help with the funds. Since my 3DS now belongs the them, I have to do the system transfer at their store, using their wi-fi to assist the data transference.

When I tried the system transfer, it got all the way to 5/5 (which is the part for transferring eShop info), then stopped. An error message came up on the 3DS (not XL) saying "error 005-4227". As you know, this is the error for the Nintendo eShop. So, curious, I decided to connect both systems to the eShop to see what happens. The 3DS could not connect to the eShop the first time, with the error message popping up. However, after trying again, the 3DS eventually connected, but it took quite a while. The XL made it to the eShop easily, no problems at all. I tried the system transfer two more times, but the same thing came up both times, where the transfer would get to 5/5, stop, and give me the error message.

For whatever reason, even though the system transfer was at least 90% complete each time, no transferred data whatsoever is present on the XL and all of the data to be transferred is still on the old 3DS. Therefore, this problem is also preventing me from doing any kind of transfer at all.

I have left my old 3DS with Best Buy. They promised that they would hold onto the 3DS and I could come back tomorrow and try the system transfer again.

So, what's the problem? Is it the internet at Best Buy? A problem with the 3DS itself? Both? Neither?

Also, if I can't transfer my old data for some reason, is there some way to at least get my old eShop games back that actually cost me money? I didn't have a whole lot, just Metroid II, Link's Awakening, and 4 Swords Adventures Anniversary.

Unlink MiiVerse/Nintendo Network ID?

$
0
0

So, this is sort of a unique case here... Please bear with me while I try to explain..

Recently did a system transfer from my launch 3DS to my newly purchased Yoshi 3DS XL, that way I could get all my Ambassador stuff and the few purchases I made to my new console. This console (the Launch 3DS) wasn't up-to-date nor has it been updated in a while, the Yoshi 3DS XL had what ever version of the 3DS OS that comes already installed. Now I have a 3rd 3DS, a Pikachu edition, and apparently at some point I linked my Nintendo Network ID with that console.

So, supposedly the only way to transfer a Nintendo Network ID is from a System X-fer (So from the blank Pikachu 3DS to Yoshi), but if I do that, everything will transfer to the Pikachu 3DS, which is only for show.

To make things a little more complicated, this Nintendo Network ID is also linked with my WiiU in which I have a few purchases on as well, so I don't think deleting my Network ID is an option.

===========================================================

This is sort of un-releated, but I have my Club Nintendo Account linked with all 3 3DSes & my WiiU.
Since I have done that, will that save my downloads if I delete my Network ID?

Thanks for your help!

Error Code: 022-2591. Recently upgraded to 3DS XL without transferring ID. Help!

$

I recently traded in my 3DS for a 3DS XL at Game Stop and before I made the trade I asked to make sure that my digital purchases would be playable on my new system. I was assured that as long as I had my games on an SD card I should be able to play them. When I insert the SD card there are no games present and when I try to link my Nintendo Network ID I get:

Error Code: 022-2591 This Nintendo Network ID has already

been linked to another system in the

Nintendo 3DS family.

Please select a different Nintendo

Network ID and try again.

I called Game Stop to see if they would allow me to do a system transfer from my old 3DS and they said as soon as they recieve the trade-in they format the system. Is there anyway I can recover my previous purchases? It seems crazy to me that I can't at this point since I have access to my purchase history that is supposedly attached to an ID as opposed to the system itself. Moreover the system transfer procedure isn't exactly evident when trying to upgrade to a better system. I feel like there's gotta be something that can be done. What if it was a case where I was forced to buy a new system becasue the old one quit working. How would I do a system transfer then? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
