3DS Black Screen of Death 2013

$

Towards the end of April, I was playing Pokemon Black 2 on my 3DS. I closed the lid one night and let it sleep. Over the course of the night the battery died. I woke up the next morning and tried to turn it on. It turned on for a little but then died again because it didn't have enough juice. I plugged in the charger to let it charge, but it never fully came on again. When I turn it on, both of the backlights come on, the power light comes on, the charging light comes on, and the wifi light will come on. The 3D slider light does not. If I hold the power button, but screens turn on and the 3D light and displays the regualr "In Sleep Mode, the system can..." message. From this screen I can power off fully, but when I try to go to the Home screen, it lags indefinitely.

With my 3DS in this state I've been looking for solution, I found out about the system update screen where you turn the system on holding L, R, A and up. This worked fine, both of my screens turned on and I could update, if there was an update to update. I've waited months for the update that came out a few days ago hoping that this would fix my problem. It did not. I contacted NIntendo about this problem and they didn't know what to do with it either, finally teling me to send it in for 100 bucks to fix it.

My 3DS is a launch day Black 3DS with ambassador games and everything. Every 3DS with this specific problem I've read up on so far have been 3DS from that window with ambassador games and all which leads me to believe that it might have been a defect with that specific batch of 3DS's. I made this thread to see if anyone else had the same 3DS as me that has this problem and if ANYONE has found a fix for it yet that doesn't involve me giving Nintendo 100 more dollars after the 250 bucks I paid for it at launch. Please help guys. Thank you in advance.

3DS Update Problem

I just got a Nintendo 3DS a few hours ago, and am trying to update it. When the system starts to update, it stops and a message comes up saying "An error has occurred. Unable to update. The system will now be restarted." I have deleted then input back in my internet settings 3 times, and still continue to have this problem. What can I do to fix this?

Thanks,

Any way to find a missing 3ds?

Hello! I have seen lots of people saying their 3ds is stolen/lost so I am wondering if there is anything I can do about it before it happens to me. For example, what apple does for the ipod touch/iphone/ipad at me.com. Is their a way to track it with a serial number?

Error Code 009-2913

now, usually i buy hard copies of my game, so i've never really had to worry about this kind of thing before. however, the new ace attorney game, dual destinies, was download only, and from the start i was having issues with it. mind you, the other few times i downloaded something from the eshop went fine, the most recent being the patch for my pokemon x, which i downloaded not too long before this game. with dual destinies, though, i've always seemed to have problems downloading anything

after purchasing it, downloading the game itself took several tries over two or three days, and finally i got it after putting my system in sleep mode to do it. however, the game has dlc, which i can't seem to get. the one i've been trying to download is a free minor dlc, so i haven't been as concerned about it, but recently they added an extra bonus case to the game, which is gonna cost me, and though i really want to play it, i don't want to pay for something i can't even get.

everytime i try to download the dlc, it looks like it's going fine until it hits a certain percentage (it changes each time) and freezes for a long while before the error code 009-2913 pops up. i'm out of ideas and i'm really starting to get frustrated with this. like i said, i had no problems prior to this game, so i'm not sure if it's just the game itself giving me problems. (and i've checked with my other friends who have it and they've had absolutely no problems with it.) please help if you can, thank you!

3DS Club Nintendo Link Error

I'm trying to link my Nintendo ID and Club Nintendo account to my 3DS. But every time the e-shop asks for my Club Nintendo username and password, it gives me the 011-7401 error, which says I've entered the information incorrectly.

I have this information written down, and I used it to log into my Club Nintendo account on the computer I'm using to type this. So why does my 3DS, or rather the e-shop think I'm screwing it up? Even after triple-checking to see if I've misspelled something, it still tells me I've screwed up somehow.

sorry if this has been asked, i looked for 2 days now and havent found much solid info.

since nintendo is putting retail 3ds games on the e shop i decided it is time to upgrade my card from the 2 gig to a 32 or 64gb

question i have

1.will a 64gb sdhc or sdxc work in the 3ds

2. anyone know what write/read speed it should have, someone said that read speed is more important than writing speed for 3ds so is a 20mb/s read speed and 15mb/s write speed good

3. anyone have suggestions on cards i should get, i want it to be a 64gb and under 60 bucks, i found one for 50 thats a komputerbay 64gb class 10 sdxc card if anyone knows of a better card or how good this one is it would be really helpful.

The new updated killed my nintendo zone.

The new update killed my ability to use the nintendo zone. I have 2 3ds xl. One updated last night. I went to a McDonalds and the non updated one streetpassed and the nintendo zone icon said I was in the zone. The update one said I was and when I had it search it said "Nope no nintendo zone here" even though my other one and my daughters ds both said yes the is a zone here. So I updated my other 3ds xl and as soon as it restarted it could not log into the zone and said there wasn't on available, but my daughters 3ds, which has not updated, said the zone was still there and she could log in.

So how do I fix this and is there anyway to get rid of the update? We live in a very small town and the McDonalds is one of the few places we can streetpass.

HELP!

Thanks

Hi, whenever I try to connect to other towns in Animal Crossing: New Leaf, I keep recieving the error code 018-0512.

On the website, it says that it's a connectivity issue, but I can access the internet on my 3DS just fine. In fact, I can see all the towns online (as well as the visitors,) but when I attempt to join, the system spits this error code back at me.

Is there anybody who can help me solve this?

Charging question - flickering orange light with 3rd party charger

Hi All,

Just arrived in Abu Dhabi with my US 3DS XL, and mistakenly plugged the 120V AC adaptor into a 220V socket (forgot that the Nintendo chargers aren't dual volatge). The 3DS wouldn't charge, but otherwise seemed to be alright (don't know about the charger itself). I then bought a third-party charger that is listed as "Input AC 100-240V 50-60Hz, Output DC5.0V +/- 0.5V DC500mA". The 3DS seems to charge just fine until it reaches a full charge, at which point the (orange) charging light starts to flicker and then never actually goes off. If you open the 3DS, the screen also shows the system constantly switching between the orange "charging" icon and the blue "charged" icon. Anyone have any ideas why the 3DS isn't finishing the charge / why the light flickers and doesn't go off? I am assuming that there is something going on with the voltage from the charger that prevents the 3DS from knowing that it is fully charged, but I am concerned that I am somehow damaging the battery or the system. Any help would be much appreciated, as I am here for a month and don't want to mess us my (much loved) 3DS!

Moved Countries, Want to use Eshop

I recently moved to Australia. I brought my 3DS With me, However my Nintendo Network ID, Is not registered under Australia. So when I bought an Australian nintendo point card, I was very dissapointed to learn, I could not use it.

I have looked everywhere, I've looked into formatting, Ive looked into so many different forums, I can find nothing to help me. I want to be able to change the country of my Network ID. I've looked at formatting, But I lose SD Card data. I have many nintendo games, And I do not want to format because I will lose their data.

I did not purchase ANY of them in the Eshop. My question is, Seeing as all of the data from my games (Pokemon ORAS, Pokemon Y) Are stored on the SD Card. Will they be wiped if I format? I payed for these games at a store, And have the chip for them. Neither of these games required me to have an ID to play, So will it affect them at all?

I don't want to lose any of my data, So I am too afraid to just format with a snap of the fingers.

Please, Is there any way I can get my ID's country changed to Australia, And not lose ANY of my data?

>>>>EDIT: Dec 23, 2014 TL;DR: I got this error message after upgrading to a new SD Card. Nintendo said it can be done by dragging the data to a computer, then to the new SD card. After doing that, this error message appeared for Streetpass Mii Plaza. Nintendo doesn't know what this code means. (ikr?) In the end, I ended up having to delete all the data on the SD Card, losing my progress on the Streetpass games, as well as the save data for my digital version of Animal Crossing. Abandon all hope, ye who enter here.<<<<

I have a 3DS XL and recently upgraded to a 32GB SD Card. I transferred all the data from my previous (4GB) SD card by dropping it onto my computer, then moving it from my computer to the new (32GB) SD card. At first, everything looked fine; my digital download of "Animal Crossing: New Leaf" was still there and looking fine, all the icons on the home screen were accounted for, the background was blue the way I like it, etc. The problem started, however, when I started up "Streetpass Mii Plaza." There was a loading screen, then I get the following error message:

"Error Code: 009-4072

An error has occured.

-The SD Card may not be inserted or was inserted during use of the system. Please turn off the power, and then insert the SD Card and try again.

-Please check that the SD Card is not write-protected."

WP_20141207_006.jpg

I tapped "OK" and it continued on to the Mii Plaza. Everything looked normal, but I was missing the streetpass games I purchased, and only had the two that came with the 3DS: "Puzzle Swap" and "Find Mii I & II." "Mii Force," "Flower Town," "Warrior's Way," and "Monster Manor" are all missing, yet in the Mii Plaza Settings menu, I have the option of clearing data from those games.

The Nintendo support error code look-up interprets 009-4072 as a problem connecting to the internet. I submitted a ticket online to Nintendo Support...

...but havn't gotten a reponse yet. I called customer support, and they weren't able to find the error code or help me fix the problem.

Unfortunately, I didnt back up my data after the first transfer, but I've backed it up on my computer since. What I've found is that an empty SD card (the 4GB or the 32GB; doesn't matter) doesn't encounter the error, but EITHER SD card with the data on it encounters the error. Nothing else seems to be affected other than "Streetpass Mii Plaza." I'm starting to think I'm just going to have to wipe everythign and start from scratch, but I've been playing a lot of "Animal Crossing: New Leaf" and that would just be a major bummer.

3DS Internet Issue

$

My sister and I are having problems with the Internet on both of our 3DS systems. We can use the Internet Browser fine, but they won't connect to the Nintendo Network (eShop, Friend List [only ones we've tried]). It tries to load the network and then says

Error Code: 001-0803

Unable to connect to the server.

Please try again later.

For help, visit support.nintendo.com.

OK

This is happening on both systems. Why is this happening? Is this happening to others currently? I am in Florida if that gives any specifics away about the network. The Internet is fine but it just won't connect to the Friend List or eShop.

UPDATE:

Both systems started working fine not too long after I posted this. Any hint as to why it was doing this? It did this for about 30 minutes.
