Any way to find a missing 3ds?
Hello! I have seen lots of people saying their 3ds is stolen/lost so I am wondering if there is anything I can do about it before it happens to me. For example, what apple does for the ipod touch/iphone/ipad at me.com. Is their a way to track it with a serial number?
Recovering Corrupted Save Data in Pokemon X and Y
Okay, so I just had a very, very close shave. I'd beaten the main game of an eShop-downloaded Pokemon: Y Version about a week ago, and have since been working on making some competitive online battling teams while filling in the Pokedex as a side-project. I thought I was done for the night, but one of my friends needed something, so I went to open it up.
That's when I saw this before the intro cinematic even played:
"The save game data is corrupted.
Refer to the electronic manual for details."
Natrually I was very concerned. I had no desire to just lose 220+ hours of time and effort, so I opened the manual hoping for a way to recover my corrupted data, maybe by loading a backup of my SD Card data.
The manual plainly told me that loading a backup would not restore my save game data.
This nearly made me quite literally throw my 3DS out the window in rage, but I decided to channel that anger into proving the manual wrong and searched up some fixes. Only two possibilities turned up, found on these forums:
1) Having the SD Card read by an external source (i.e. copying data from it to your computer).
2) Constantly restarting the game and praying it would jostle the game data into suddenly working again.
Now, this time things worked out; the first solution worked for me. and Pokemon Y is working just fine now. But this was still a seriously close call that could happen again at any moment, and I've seen cases on these forums that weren't so easily fixed. So I have to ask this:
Why can't we preserve and backup our save game data of Pokemon X and Y?
I know the obvious answer I'm going to get is some vein of "because of hackers and piracy", but my impression was that these were already taken care of as best as possible, hackers by the "Bad Egg" error thing and piracy by the 3DS-eShop linking. I know there are always a myriad of people trying to break these games over their knees, but to be frank, these people deserve whatever errors or lawsuits they get. The rest of us who instead play the game legally have to deal with errors like this with no way of reversing the damage other than to completely restart, and it is not at all fair, nor does it seem worth the trade-off.
Before anyone asks, the corruption that happened in my game was an entirely random event. I save often, I've never recieved a "Bad Egg", I bought the game right off of the eShop on launch day, and the closest thing I've done to cheating is save scumming when breeding Pokemon and not getting a favorable result in order to save time. This random corruption was a major eye opener to what hundreds of other people must have had happen to them also, and I'm not about to turn a blind eye even if I did fix my data.
The point is: in this day and age where info and data can be stored on nearly anything with nearly any means, hacking and piracy notwithstanding, there needs to be a reliable way for the innocent consumers to backup and recover the save data for a mere video game. Is there any way to make this possible? I'd rather not lose 220+ hours of work again and not be able to get it back this time...
Nintendo Network ID
Hello everyone! So I've recently just bought a new 3DS XL because my old 3DS went through some pretty bad water damage and that it couldn't be recoverd. So I went to Wal-mart to return it, but they said I had to have a recipet or they won't do warranty for me so I basically decided to buy a new 3DS.
My question is, is it possible to recover my Nintedo Network ID? Since I have Poke Bank and Pokemon Dream Radar from my old account, I don't want to waste another $8 to get them back and I have a lot of Pokemon in my Poke Bank too that I'm concerned about.
I've already contacted the support team and I don't want to wait 3 days to get a reply. I just bought a new 3DS and I was wondering if it's possible to recover my Nintendo Network ID or at least get Poke Bank and Pokemon Dream Radar back onto my new 3DS.
SD Card not detected
This just started happening when I updated my 3DS. Every time I try to access the eShop, or even the Home menu, I get an error message saying that the system "Could not detect an SD card" and "The software on the SD card could not be displayed". Also, it tells me the portion of my SD card that stores software data is corrupted when I access the eShop and redirects me to data management. I have formatted everything and I still get this error. Please help!
AC:NL Error code 018-0512
Hi, whenever I try to connect to other towns in Animal Crossing: New Leaf, I keep recieving the error code 018-0512.
On the website, it says that it's a connectivity issue, but I can access the internet on my 3DS just fine. In fact, I can see all the towns online (as well as the visitors,) but when I attempt to join, the system spits this error code back at me.
Is there anybody who can help me solve this?

Changing your Personal Mii
So, when I first went into the Mii Studio, the stupid system made me create a Mii. I left everything at the default settings (actually named the Mii "Default") just so I could get into the studio and import my Mii from my Wii.
Except now, "Default" is my personal Mii and I don't see *anywhere* I can select a different Mii.
Any suggestions?
(PS: Yes, I know I can go in and edit the Default Mii into a me-Mii, but I already have a me-Mii that I want to use.)
So I need to sell my 3DS XL but don't have a 3DS/XL to transfer to.
I'm really tight on money right now and I need to sell my 3DS XL. I have a buyer ready to go but I would like to keep the software on my SD card and my accounts (mii, eshop, ect.) then use them when I can afford to buy a new one (possibly the "new 3DS" when it comes out). What steps if any can I take in order to prepare my 3DS XL for my buyer and allow me to use the software on my SD card and my accounts on a future 3DS console?
I have no choice but to sell it at this point, I have a feeling I will be forced to lose some things because of Nintendo's policies (even though they should have everything stored online somewhere). So any help and advice is welcome.
3DS XL - 3D effect not working
I just bought a 3ds xl off of ebay, works great, except when using the 3D effect, it looks "doubled" and not 3d at all. like if u were in a 3d movie, and took your 3d glasses off. thats what it looks like. any help? and i dont wanna hear i shouldnt have used ebay, i would like honest advice. there also seems to be some liquid/rainbow effect in the screen.

Nintendo 3DS to 3DS XL Transfer Questions
Hello. I have a Nintendo 3DS, the original one that first came out back in 2011. Inside it has an 8GB SD card where all my data is currently saved (the 8GB SD card is one I bought from a store for larger capacity and is not one that originally came with the 3DS itself). Recently my dad purchased a brand new Nintendo 3DS XL for me for my birthday, and I think he also purchased a warranty on it but as of this posting I'm not entirely sure. I've always thought the 3DS XL looked cool but was always hesitant on buying one out of fear of losing any games or saved data in the process of transferring from my current 3DS to a new 3DS XL. However, now that I actually have one, I'm probably going to have to do it anyway. So I have some questions.
First off, I just took my 8GB SD card from my original 3DS and inserted it into my computer, so all the current data on it could be backed up in its entirety. The backup process was successful and all the data from my SD card is now copied onto my computer.
Now, I have a few questions. If I go to transfer from my Nintendo 3DS to my new 3DS XL, will all of my data be successfully transferred? That includes downloaded games from the eShop, rare games such as TLoZ: Four Swords and the original arcade version of Donkey Kong, Virtual Console games, saved game data on all those games (including Restore Points) as well as saved game data on hard copy games, and such? Does it include all of my saved Miis? What about free and purchased DLC for games (such as Coin Rush packs for NSMB2 or puzzles for Pushmo/Crashmo)? What about Swapnote? I have tons of notes from friends that I'm hoping will transfer over to my 3DS XL as well as limited-edition promotional stationery I received from different sources. Would it be best to add myself as a "friend" on both 3DS systems and download Swapnote on my 3DS XL, and then send myself notes on Swapnote with all the different stationery from my original 3DS so the new system gets it? I'm not even sure if that's feasible since I'd think that once you transfer over your old system's data to a new one that the data that was on the new one would be overwritten. Would all of my pictures and videos and sound recordings from my original 3DS also be saved and be transferred over to my new 3DS XL? And once the system transfer is complete, I would just take the SD Card out from the original 3DS and put it into the new 3DS XL and it would actually be usable? Or if not, would I have to copy all the backed up data from my SD card that's sitting on my computer right now onto a fresh SD card? And what should I do with my old 3DS, once that's all said and done?
Since I've been playing Animal Crossing: New Leaf for the past few months (the physical copy, not a downloaded copy), I've been making tremendous progress in my town so as you can see...I don't want to lose my data (or any data at all for that matter) in the process of transferring.
One last question. Whenever our home phone rings, for some reason the internet on any mobile device gets disconnected but then comes back up after a few seconds. Would it be best to perform this kind of transfer, if I'm even going to do it at all, late at night when there's hardly a chance at all the phone will ring as to not disrupt the system transfer process? I've heard that if the process is somehow disrupted due to a bad connection while in the middle of it that you could potentially lose data if that happens.
If anyone could please answer my questions and ease my concerns in the process, that'd be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.

I am getting error 011-3139 when attempting to connect to the Nintendo eShop through my 3DS!
Just like the title says. I checked the network status and all seems to be working fine. In fact, a few friends have already managed to download Super Smash Bros. Are the servers really packed right now and unable to handle all the traffic?
Error Code: 011-3139 - Cannot Access 3DS E-Shop
HI.
I cannot access the 3DS e-Shop, the error code is 011-3139.
The system states "Please restart Nintendo eShop and try again."
Is anyone else having the same or simiiar problem.
Note: I seem to have same problem with accessing the WiiU e-Shop as well, that error code is 107-3139.
Hopefully Happy Holidays.
Super Smash Bros 3ds - 018-0516 error code, HELP
In SSB3DS, any type of game I try to play online I get the above error code. The error message on nintendos sport page says to make sure I'm connected to my router.. it's right next to me and my signal is really strong. Not sure if it has to do with port forwarding/nat issues (I have tho issues here at college in the dorms with my ps4) or if it is something on nintendos end. Any help?
Which Ports for Port Forwarding?
Sometimes I have trouble playing certain games online with both my 3DS and Wii U. Typically setting either of them to the DMZ will work, but unfortunately only one device can be in my router's DMZ at a time. I can change the settings each time I want to play online, but that's work I'd like to avoid if possible.
Port forwarding also works if I do the full range, 1-65535. Sadly, however, port forwarding the full range for the 3DS kills my Wii U's ability to connect. Are there specific ports for the Wii U and 3DS that I can forward separately to allow both of them to connect without me having to change the settings every time I want to play one or the other one? Or is there another solution entirely that I'm overlooking?
Worst case, I suppose, I'll just have to change which device is in the DMZ any time I want to play online. It's frustrating, but it works. It would be wonderful if I could avoid having to constantly reconfigure my router and just set it up once and for all.
erm error code 001-0502
hello I have two 3ds in my house holds, yet one of them can't connect to my friends list and whatnot, while the other can...it always gives me error code 001-0502 but says i'm connected....any help?
018-0521 error
Whenever I want to play online with other players (not in the option "with friends") it says an error has occurred with the error code 018-0521. I've taken nintendo's advice from their support thing and nothing seems to fix it. Whenever I go on the option "with friends" there is no problem at all. My friend has gotten the same error code but instead, she is unable to connect in the "with friends" option, but she is able to connect fine with the "with anyone option". This doesn't make any sense honestly I've reset everything and done what Nintendo support has told me to do and I've updated it but nothing has solved the issue and it really bothers me. Anyone know what this issue is or how to fix it:(?
3DS Update Problem
I just got a Nintendo 3DS a few hours ago, and am trying to update it. When the system starts to update, it stops and a message comes up saying "An error has occurred. Unable to update. The system will now be restarted." I have deleted then input back in my internet settings 3 times, and still continue to have this problem. What can I do to fix this?
Thanks,
YR25
The new updated killed my nintendo zone.
The new update killed my ability to use the nintendo zone. I have 2 3ds xl. One updated last night. I went to a McDonalds and the non updated one streetpassed and the nintendo zone icon said I was in the zone. The update one said I was and when I had it search it said "Nope no nintendo zone here" even though my other one and my daughters ds both said yes the is a zone here. So I updated my other 3ds xl and as soon as it restarted it could not log into the zone and said there wasn't on available, but my daughters 3ds, which has not updated, said the zone was still there and she could log in.
So how do I fix this and is there anyway to get rid of the update? We live in a very small town and the McDonalds is one of the few places we can streetpass.
HELP!
Thanks
