Any way to find a missing 3ds?
Hello! I have seen lots of people saying their 3ds is stolen/lost so I am wondering if there is anything I can do about it before it happens to me. For example, what apple does for the ipod touch/iphone/ipad at me.com. Is their a way to track it with a serial number?
3DS Update Problem
I just got a Nintendo 3DS a few hours ago, and am trying to update it. When the system starts to update, it stops and a message comes up saying "An error has occurred. Unable to update. The system will now be restarted." I have deleted then input back in my internet settings 3 times, and still continue to have this problem. What can I do to fix this?
Thanks,

3DS won't charge
I have the original 3DS that I bought in 2011. My brother lost it at the beginning of the year. Recently, he found it and obviously, it wasn't charged. I have tried charging it with the AC adaptor but it won't charge and the charging light won't glow. Help please!
Smash Bros 3DS Code Question
The reason I am asking this is because of the 3DS Smash Bros code giveaway. I called Nintendo of America's customer support (12:34 PM EST) and they helped me check to see if I had the all the requirements which I did. My problem is I feel like I am not getting their emails except for promotions about sales and Club Nintendo order confirmations but not the the code giveaway. They said they sent me the email but nothing came up so far (called half an hour ago).
I just want to know if its my email prefences fault for not receiving it or something else. My email is Comcast.net by the way if that helps.
SD Card not detected
This just started happening when I updated my 3DS. Every time I try to access the eShop, or even the Home menu, I get an error message saying that the system "Could not detect an SD card" and "The software on the SD card could not be displayed". Also, it tells me the portion of my SD card that stores software data is corrupted when I access the eShop and redirects me to data management. I have formatted everything and I still get this error. Please help!
Problems with accessing the shop (Error Code 007-2100)
My 3DS will connect to the internet perfectly during a connection test, but whenever I try to connect to the Shop I get the error code: 007-2100. I'm becoming more than a little frustrated with this...I already had to use a different wifi source just to install the update and now I can't even get the store to work at my house. I'm seriously considering selling this thing if I can't even access half of the features :/
eShop Error Code 005 - 4040
Hello,
I can't seem to connect to the 3DS eShop. After pressing the eShop icon, it takes me to the load screen (with the little icon), which loads for like 2 minutes, afterward I get the 005 4040 error message. Checked the error code on the support page and it said that that the eShop might be down at the moment, so I checked the network status page and it says it is operating normally. Other people in my region are able to access the eShop as well.
I've tried resetting my wifi, as well as reseting my 3DS.I can connect to the internet fine (Internet rowser and friend list works). I've had this issue for around 3 hours now. Any ideas?
Thanks.
eshop "Virtual console", section inside 3DS-XL, show 010-2504.

Nintendo 3DS error and SD card help.
Okay, so I have this problem on my 3ds. I've been using a 4 GB SD card and recently, I went to the EShop to buy Animal Crossing: New Leaf. I needed more blocks so I got a new 8 GB SDHC card by Imation. So I redownloaded Pokemon Y, which was the only game I had because it was the free pokemon x or y event. So I was playing ACNL and it was fine but a couple hours later, I got an error message saying An error has occurred. Please press the POWER BUTTON to turn the 3ds off or something like that. And I kept getting that message on both my pokemon Y and ACNL. That was around a week ago and I tried to solve that by reformatting my SD card and repairing my downloads. Since this didn't happen to any of my physical copies, I thought it had to do with my SD card not being compatible, and at that time, the EShop stopped working for me. So I got a new Micro SD card and I tried to move my old files to my Desktop, but the Nintendo 3DS file wouldn't move. My DCIM would be fine however. I had an older version of the file from when I formatted my SD card a couple days ago, so I put that file into the new Micro SD card. I put that into my 3ds and I went to the EShop and it was working, so I thought it really was my SD card. I went to pokemon Y next to see if I would get the error message again but when I tried to play, it said that the version of the saves file was not compatible with the game.
Does anyone know how to fix this? Any help would be appreciated.

Circle pad broke
I was just playing Monster Hunter and the circle pad broke off. As a result I have a couple questions. First of all, is it covered by the warranty? Second, would the system need to be replaced?
Recovering Corrupted Save Data in Pokemon X and Y
Okay, so I just had a very, very close shave. I'd beaten the main game of an eShop-downloaded Pokemon: Y Version about a week ago, and have since been working on making some competitive online battling teams while filling in the Pokedex as a side-project. I thought I was done for the night, but one of my friends needed something, so I went to open it up.
That's when I saw this before the intro cinematic even played:
"The save game data is corrupted.
Refer to the electronic manual for details."
Natrually I was very concerned. I had no desire to just lose 220+ hours of time and effort, so I opened the manual hoping for a way to recover my corrupted data, maybe by loading a backup of my SD Card data.
The manual plainly told me that loading a backup would not restore my save game data.
This nearly made me quite literally throw my 3DS out the window in rage, but I decided to channel that anger into proving the manual wrong and searched up some fixes. Only two possibilities turned up, found on these forums:
1) Having the SD Card read by an external source (i.e. copying data from it to your computer).
2) Constantly restarting the game and praying it would jostle the game data into suddenly working again.
Now, this time things worked out; the first solution worked for me. and Pokemon Y is working just fine now. But this was still a seriously close call that could happen again at any moment, and I've seen cases on these forums that weren't so easily fixed. So I have to ask this:
Why can't we preserve and backup our save game data of Pokemon X and Y?
I know the obvious answer I'm going to get is some vein of "because of hackers and piracy", but my impression was that these were already taken care of as best as possible, hackers by the "Bad Egg" error thing and piracy by the 3DS-eShop linking. I know there are always a myriad of people trying to break these games over their knees, but to be frank, these people deserve whatever errors or lawsuits they get. The rest of us who instead play the game legally have to deal with errors like this with no way of reversing the damage other than to completely restart, and it is not at all fair, nor does it seem worth the trade-off.
Before anyone asks, the corruption that happened in my game was an entirely random event. I save often, I've never recieved a "Bad Egg", I bought the game right off of the eShop on launch day, and the closest thing I've done to cheating is save scumming when breeding Pokemon and not getting a favorable result in order to save time. This random corruption was a major eye opener to what hundreds of other people must have had happen to them also, and I'm not about to turn a blind eye even if I did fix my data.
The point is: in this day and age where info and data can be stored on nearly anything with nearly any means, hacking and piracy notwithstanding, there needs to be a reliable way for the innocent consumers to backup and recover the save data for a mere video game. Is there any way to make this possible? I'd rather not lose 220+ hours of work again and not be able to get it back this time...

A very complicated 3ds question...
Hello everyone.
So, this is all because I really want to play my profile on Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate. Get ready.
I first played it on the 3ds. It was great. Then my brother, long story short, broke the top screen. Being the teenager he was, he wanted to fix it himself. He actually got close, but just gave up. I didn't care that much to play it anymore, so I let bigons be bigons.
Then I got a Wii U. And, of course, I bought MH3U. So now I had a friend over with his 3ds so we could play together and he could transfer my data from the broken 3ds SD card to my Wii U via my friends 3ds. Well, found out my profile is NOT on the SD card.
So, here is my question. I think my saved data is on the broken 3ds' internal memory, but the 3ds is broken. Is there another way to pull that information off the internal memory, or would I have to make the broken 3ds work and transfer the MH3U data to the Wii U?
Any and all help will be very appreciated.
