3DS Black Screen of Death 2013

Towards the end of April, I was playing Pokemon Black 2 on my 3DS. I closed the lid one night and let it sleep. Over the course of the night the battery died. I woke up the next morning and tried to turn it on. It turned on for a little but then died again because it didn't have enough juice. I plugged in the charger to let it charge, but it never fully came on again. When I turn it on, both of the backlights come on, the power light comes on, the charging light comes on, and the wifi light will come on. The 3D slider light does not. If I hold the power button, but screens turn on and the 3D light and displays the regualr "In Sleep Mode, the system can..." message. From this screen I can power off fully, but when I try to go to the Home screen, it lags indefinitely.

With my 3DS in this state I've been looking for solution, I found out about the system update screen where you turn the system on holding L, R, A and up. This worked fine, both of my screens turned on and I could update, if there was an update to update. I've waited months for the update that came out a few days ago hoping that this would fix my problem. It did not. I contacted NIntendo about this problem and they didn't know what to do with it either, finally teling me to send it in for 100 bucks to fix it.

My 3DS is a launch day Black 3DS with ambassador games and everything. Every 3DS with this specific problem I've read up on so far have been 3DS from that window with ambassador games and all which leads me to believe that it might have been a defect with that specific batch of 3DS's. I made this thread to see if anyone else had the same 3DS as me that has this problem and if ANYONE has found a fix for it yet that doesn't involve me giving Nintendo 100 more dollars after the 250 bucks I paid for it at launch. Please help guys. Thank you in advance.

For some reason, I keep on getting this error code, and I'm very close to my Internet. Not just the normal maintenance, the Internet maintenance. I'm thinking "is this a possible 3DS update not announced?"

I just got a Nintendo 3DS a few hours ago, and am trying to update it. When the system starts to update, it stops and a message comes up saying "An error has occurred. Unable to update. The system will now be restarted." I have deleted then input back in my internet settings 3 times, and still continue to have this problem. What can I do to fix this?

Thanks,

AC:NL Error code 018-0512

Hi, whenever I try to connect to other towns in Animal Crossing: New Leaf, I keep recieving the error code 018-0512.

On the website, it says that it's a connectivity issue, but I can access the internet on my 3DS just fine. In fact, I can see all the towns online (as well as the visitors,) but when I attempt to join, the system spits this error code back at me.

Is there anybody who can help me solve this?

Internet Browser Error but no error code?

I am using 3DS at a public place and my 3ds usually just connects fine as soon as I go to internet browser and click "Agree to Terms" to the public wifi spot. Today I tried doing the same thing and this is the message I get when connecting..

"The Internet Browser cannot be used at this time. Please check your network enviroment or try again later."

What does this mean? Is there something I am doing wrong? I am not tinkering around with any settings or anything. It has no error code and I have been searching for an answer on Nintendo, but to no avail.

Can someone please help me? I feel I am the only one recieving this error.

3ds not connecting to Internet

I use a public wifi and ever since I did the last system update, I  can't connect to the internet. I have games that need to be updated and I can't connect to the Pokemon Bank and I can't visit the game shop. I'm sure there is another system update that I need but I can't connect to anything. I've tried changing the DNS entry as suggested in another forum but nothing works. Ever since I was forced to put the parental controls in at the last system update I did, I can't connect.

I don't know what else to do. Does anyone have suggestions? I'd like to access my Pokemon Bank again.

3ds won't connect to router, security not supported. Never had problems before.

Today, I went to battle on DQMJ: 2 and it wouldn't connect. I got the error code 52000. Well, I removed my connection and went to go redo it. It then said,

"This security type isn't supported."

And yet I've been using my 3DS without any issues until today, it won't even let me search for a access point, what is going on?

I am using a Belkin with WPA, and it worked fine till a few days ago.

3DS won't turn on.

My 3DS will no longer power on. I noticed a while ago that it would click off if I set it down on a table or something occasionally, and I thought about sending it in for repairs, but could not find the information, and it always powered back on. Now it has stopped powering back on. But I let it charge all last night, and it still did not power on this morning (it wasn't even getting a charge light). Could someone please point me to what I am supposed to do? I have looked at the "how to get your system repaired" page which is supposed to list all the problems I could be having and what to do to send the system in for repairs, except it doesn't have any listing for "system won't power on."

Also,I  tried plugging the speaker into the headphone port but the sound volume comes out ridicoulously low, like headphones.. :/ what have I done wrong here ?

3DS Theme Shop "Unable to Obtain Data"

$

So since the Nintendo Direct that featured the New 3DS and the theme update, I've been waiting to see if that was for the current 3DS's as well. I was stoked when I got that update and was able to finally theme-out my 3DS. Of course I downloaded and Mario Bros. and Link Between Worlds theme as well as a Peach theme.

As I was playing around with them, trying to figure out which one I wanted to use at that moment, I go into themes and it tells me  that the themes I bought are corrupt and to go into Data Management, delete and redownload them. After doing what I thought was the right thing (The one I deleted had a grey question mark as the display block which was something I never saw before), whenever I try to go into the Theme Shop, I get an "error" that says "Unable to Obtain Data." Not only that, but the Shantae game I had downloaded from the e-Shop that day wouldn't work anymore, but a quick repair functioned fixed that without me losing any save data, but I still get that error whenever I go into the Theme Shop.
I called customer service and said that because the update and the functions were still new, they haven't heard any negative feedback on it yet, which is understtandable. That and that I was the first to report such a strange error. So the guy told me that they would mark this as a new issue and get back to me when they have figured out the issue. That was about two days ago, but I'm being just a bit impatient since this is an update I've been looking forward to since the Direct.

The other thing is that, on my other 3DS, I downloaded the update as well and can easily get onto the Theme Shop from there. The thing is that I don't want to move my Network ID onto that one since I primarily use my XL. Otherwise, I would just have to purchase those themes AGAIN. Which is really not in my best interest. But it seems to me that this means that there is something from the update that is on my regular 3DS that I may have deleted on my XL.
So basically, I'm wondering if anybody else has had this issue or may know of a way to somehow fix it?

Traded in 3DS XL and forgot to unlink Nintendo Network ID

I know, it was a knee-jerk reaction to trade it in so fast towards the New 3DS XL. I was not thinking straight and I completely forgot about system transfer and all of my downloaded games. My e-shop was linked to my Nintendo Network ID, so I changed the password in hopes of it being deactivated on the old 3DS XL I traded in.

My question is this: Is there a way to unlink my NNID from the old 3DS XL? I know it will say it is activated on another system when I try to log in on the N3DS, and I am fully aware that my saves are lost (which really only consisted of New Leaf and Chibi-Robo, all of my other games are cartridge-based). I just wanna be able to redownload the games I purchased when the N3DS comes out. Does calling Nintendo and requesting an unlink work? Has anyone had this kind of experience? I really don't wanna purchase New Leaf or Chibi-Robo again. I can't be the only person who ran into this issue ;n;

Thanks in advance.

MH4U free theme - "Unable to obtain data"

When I attempt to download the free Monster Hunter 4 Ulimate Hunter's Weapon Gallery theme, it loads as if it's downloading, and where it should take me to a confirmation page to install, I instead get a pop-up that says "unable to obtain data" and that's it. It doesn't show up anyway despite the fact or anything. It just will not download. My system is up-to-date, and I can also download the OTHER free Sonic Boom theme, but not this one. Haven't tested with any paid themes.

Is this a universal thing or is there something wrong on my end?

Recovering Corrupted Save Data in Pokemon X and Y

$

Okay, so I just had a very, very close shave. I'd beaten the main game of an eShop-downloaded Pokemon: Y Version about a week ago, and have since been working on making some competitive online battling teams while filling in the Pokedex as a side-project. I thought I was done for the night, but one of my friends needed something, so I went to open it up.

That's when I saw this before the intro cinematic even played:

"The save game data is corrupted.

Refer to the electronic manual for details."

Natrually I was very concerned. I had no desire to just lose 220+ hours of time and effort, so I opened the manual hoping for a way to recover my corrupted data, maybe by loading a backup of my SD Card data.

The manual plainly told me that loading a backup would not restore my save game data.

This nearly made me quite literally throw my 3DS out the window in rage, but I decided to channel that anger into proving the manual wrong and searched up some fixes. Only two possibilities turned up, found on these forums:

1) Having the SD Card read by an external source (i.e. copying data from it to your computer).

2) Constantly restarting the game and praying it would jostle the game data into suddenly working again.

Now, this time things worked out; the first solution worked for me. and Pokemon Y is working just fine now. But this was still a seriously close call that could happen again at any moment, and I've seen cases on these forums that weren't so easily fixed. So I have to ask this:

Why can't we preserve and backup our save game data of Pokemon X and Y?

I know the obvious answer I'm going to get is some vein of "because of hackers and piracy", but my impression was that these were already taken care of as best as possible, hackers by the "Bad Egg" error thing and piracy by the 3DS-eShop linking. I know there are always a myriad of people trying to break these games over their knees, but to be frank, these people deserve whatever errors or lawsuits they get. The rest of us who instead play the game legally have to deal with errors like this with no way of reversing the damage other than to completely restart, and it is not at all fair, nor does it seem worth the trade-off.

Before anyone asks, the corruption that happened in my game was an entirely random event. I save often, I've never recieved a "Bad Egg", I bought the game right off of the eShop on launch day, and the closest thing I've done to cheating is save scumming when breeding Pokemon and not getting a favorable result in order to save time. This random corruption was a major eye opener to what hundreds of other people must have had happen to them also, and I'm not about to turn a blind eye even if I did fix my data.

The point is: in this day and age where info and data can be stored on nearly anything with nearly any means, hacking and piracy notwithstanding, there needs to be a reliable way for the innocent consumers to backup and recover the save data for a mere video game. Is there any way to make this possible? I'd rather not lose 220+ hours of work again and not be able to get it back this time...

I noticed the eshop is still not working for me. Has anyone else been able to get through since yesterday? I think the holiday must have had something to do with it. If it was because too many people were trying to set up their new systems it shouldve been back up by now. If its not up later today, maybe Ill try calling the 800 number.

Pokemon Shuffle save data corrupted while transfer

Just a few hours ago I was transferring my data from my 4GB SD card to a 16GB one. I checked every downloaded games that I have and all were working just fine except Pokemon Shuffle. The save data happened to have been corrupted while on transfer. Is there any way that I can get the data back? Will providing my client number for the game help? My concern is that all the things that I obtained from timed events in the game will be lost forever so I was hoping I could at least get those back (I managed to get the Lucarionite back from one of the events from my old file so I'd like to think there must be a way for this) Any kind of help would be appreciated.
