I'm having a rather annoying issue with transferring all my data from my old 3DS to my new 3DS XL.
Basically, I went to Best Buy, bought the XL over there, and traded in my old 3DS to help with the funds. Since my 3DS now belongs the them, I have to do the system transfer at their store, using their wi-fi to assist the data transference.
When I tried the system transfer, it got all the way to 5/5 (which is the part for transferring eShop info), then stopped. An error message came up on the 3DS (not XL) saying "error 005-4227". As you know, this is the error for the Nintendo eShop. So, curious, I decided to connect both systems to the eShop to see what happens. The 3DS could not connect to the eShop the first time, with the error message popping up. However, after trying again, the 3DS eventually connected, but it took quite a while. The XL made it to the eShop easily, no problems at all. I tried the system transfer two more times, but the same thing came up both times, where the transfer would get to 5/5, stop, and give me the error message.
For whatever reason, even though the system transfer was at least 90% complete each time, no transferred data whatsoever is present on the XL and all of the data to be transferred is still on the old 3DS. Therefore, this problem is also preventing me from doing any kind of transfer at all.
I have left my old 3DS with Best Buy. They promised that they would hold onto the 3DS and I could come back tomorrow and try the system transfer again.
So, what's the problem? Is it the internet at Best Buy? A problem with the 3DS itself? Both? Neither?
Also, if I can't transfer my old data for some reason, is there some way to at least get my old eShop games back that actually cost me money? I didn't have a whole lot, just Metroid II, Link's Awakening, and 4 Swords Adventures Anniversary.
